As part of my "Amazon Class Type 21 Frigate" project for Project Reality, I needed to make the correct version of the Lynx (the HAS.2) to operate from its flight deck. I used PR's existing Lynx AH.7 model originally made by "Wybl", "foul_killer" & "Pride" from Project Reality. This, inevitably for me, lead to a total update and optimization of the original Lynx AH.7 and in turn the creation of the modern Lynx AH.9A variant of the Lynx.

The main optimization I made was how the textures were set up, with previously textures having an opacity map even if 90% of the texture was fully opaque & not used.
To fix this I re-mapped the transparent parts to their own texture sheet, opening up the main texture to have the opacity map removed. On top of this, Spec and Normal maps were saved at 1024 x 1024 but the Diffuse still being at 2048 and also removing unnecessary mipmaps from the 1st person textures.
In all, the original 12.32 MB of texture memory used by the AH.7 was reduced to 4.79 MB, a reduction of 69%, while keeping pretty much the same level of texture detail as before. Other optimisations were made as well, such as a much more detailed and more optimised "Rotor Blur" texture that was missing the iconic red and white stripes from the blur.

The additions for the HAS.2, Mk.23 and AH.9A were all created from scratch and textured by myself, although the retextures of the fuselage for the HAS.2 and Mk.23 were done by "TheObscure" from Project Reality with a few tweaks by me.

These additions and changes for each version include:
HAS.2: Removed the landing skids and replaced them with a new tricycle wheeled undercarriage system (that differs from the Lynx AH.9A's), a modified nose, two versions of the Sea Skua Missile Racks & a modified cockpit with the co-pilot's radar screen.
Mk.23: A slightly modified HAS.2 with its own diffuse textures, although it shares the same normal and spec textures as the HAS.2 to save memory.
AH.9A: New new CTS800-4N engines requiring modifications to the top deck structure and rear fuselage to accommodate them, removed the landing skids and replaced them with the new wheels and suspension system found on the AH.9 (that differs from the Lynx HAS.2's), new M3M HMG Mounting Bracket, a port, nose-mounted MX-10 IR Camera with laser range-finder/illuminator that is operated by the co-pilot as well as many other smaller differences found between the AH.7 and AH.9/AH.9A variants.
