A Plastic Water Container filled with explosives, combined with a pressure pad made up of a couple of bits of wood, spaced apart with contact points between them that make contact and detonate the IED when someone walks or drives over it. This is a pretty standard Improvised Explosive Device (IED) design used by insurgent forces.
